Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.
3rd thru 5th Graders
GWC is part of Bacon’s after school enrichment program, providing an additional hour of activities in the areas of technology, music, physical fitness, and foreign languages.
Club meetings every Monday
Meetings are every Monday from 2:33 until 3:33. We meet in the gym and then move to Room 221.
We use a mix of reading assignments, Socratic discussion, role-playing activities, and proven coding learning tools like Scratch and Swift Playgrounds.
Michele and Steve have lived in Colorado for 12 years and Fort Collins for two, and their kids have attended Bacon since 2018.
We’re starting with GWC because we strongly support their goal of closing the gender gap in technology. But don’t be surprised if the Bacon Coding Club morphs and grows over the next few years.
